About

Hi, I’m Lindsey!

I am a nationally certified and state licensed and insured Speech Language Pathologist. I am licensed by the Florida Department of Health and have my Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech Language Hearing Association. I have been a resident in Pensacola, Florida since I was a child and love serving this community. I received my bachelor’s degree in Communication Science and Disorders from the University of Florida and my Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology from Florida State University. After graduation, I worked in The Escambia County School District for 5 years.

During my professional career I have had the opportunity to work with a variety of populations and disorders. I have gained experience working with a variety of speech and language disorders including: articulation disorders, fluency disorders, expressive and receptive language delays, phonological disorders, pragmatic language disorders, and Childhood Apraxia of Speech. In the school district, I worked at schools with self-contained Autism classrooms where I sharpened my skills with assistive technology, AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication), and expressive/receptive language delays. In graduate school at FSU I had an internship with The Stuttering Foundation where I developed specialized skills in fluency therapy that I still implement today. I have received specialized training in ADOS-2 Testing ( Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule-Second Edition) and Autism Spectrum Disorders. I attended the ATIA (Assistive Technology Industry Association) Conference in 2018 and 2019.

I enjoy working with children and helping empower families to be their child’s best advocate. I began Lindsey Torgersen Speech & Language Therapy, LLC to help families that are in need of speech and language therapy during critical periods of their child’s life. I believe that the best therapy includes not only the child and the therapist, but also the parents.
